The Pilgrims boys soccer team continued their strong start to the 2025 season, taking home the championship at this weekend’s four-team LCS Invitational. LCS opened the tournament against Division 1 Holt. After a scoreless first half, senior defender Will Marl fired an arcing shot over the keeper, off the post, and into the net—his first goal in just the third game of his high school career. Carson Block earned the assist. Holt evened the score, but junior Owen Andrus quickly regained the lead, slotting a loose ball in the box into an open net to make it 2-1. Sophomore Noah Flory added the insurance goal, connecting with a bouncing clearance and finding the corner of the net to send LCS to the championship match. In the finals, the Pilgrims faced Kalamazoo Christian. Andrus struck again, giving LCS an early 1-0 advantage. That proved all the offense was needed, as senior keeper Brady Carmichael and the Pilgrims defense held strong. Carmichael recorded his second shutout

LCS Opens Up the Soccer Season
Another Lansing Christian boys' soccer season kicked off on a positive note Tuesday night! A hat trick from Cullen McKay and a clean sheet by goalkeeper Brady Carmichael led the Pilgrims to a 4-0 victory over Livingston Christian. Persistent pressure by the Pilgrims created early scoring opportunities and pushed the Falcons' keeper into action. After a foul just outside the box set up a free kick, McKay made sure there was nothing the keeper could do with a perfectly placed shot to make it 1-0. McKay doubled the Pilgrims' advantage with a long-range blast off an assist from Owen Andrus. Junior midfielder Carson Block converted a pass from Adam Block with a drive that slid under the outstretched arms of the goalkeeper to make it 3-0. McKay completed his hat trick and sealed the scoring with another excellent free kick from just outside the box.
