The LCS tennis team opened up with a strong start this weekend in a tournament on the campus of Michigan State. The Pilgrims finished in a tie for 3rd place against 3 teams (Whitehall, Almont, and Lansing Catholic) that all finished top 12 in D4 the state in 2018.  Setting the tone for LCS was #4 singles Philip Curry who went 3-0 winning his division and medal honors.  #3 doubles team of Nate Foltz/Ayden Rutan also went 3-0 winning their division.  New players to the game Davis Garrett and Keagan Long finished the event in 2nd place at #4 doubles with limited experience and amazing improvement over the day.  Coach Haley said "Coach Giltner and I were amazed at how much improvement we saw from last year to this, and also throughout the day.  These were top teams in the state last year with full JV programs and upperclassmen, and we were right there with all three programs".  The tennis team has a tournament Friday against larger schools in Fowlerville and Williamston and then opens up dual play next week vs Battle Creek Penfield and East Lansing.  Go Pilgrims!
