Pilgrim Golf Cards New Season Low

Another windy, chilly day for competition. Hoping a nice (non-wet, not windy) day will come soon. Despite conditions, the Pilgrims fired a team-low 188, beating their previous low of 197. The 9 hole a trend is forming, which this coach is thrilled about--221, 198, 197, 195 and yesterday 188! Sam Havey led the way with a solid 40, followed by Trevor Dunsmore who carded back-to-back birdies to finish with a 45. Isaac Haley and Will Combs rounded out team scoring with a 51 and 52 respectively. Of note, Seth Ermshar played in his first competitive match--looking comfortable and confident. The fellas are getting better at managing the golf course. Sam Havey was quoting as say, “You’d be proud of me coach. I took my medicine on number one.” Taking your medicine is AKA for hitting a smart “punch-out” shot and taking a bogey, rather than hitting the 20% shot through the trees, likely resulting in a double or triple bogey.
